Optimising the whole care pathway for CVD prevention and cardiac services

Designed to support clinicians and local leaders to further achieve the goals set out in the NHS Long Term Plan. Key themes include early detection, preventative treatments and cardiac rehabilitation.

The HSJ National Cardio Forum is an event for clinicians and local leaders that:

  • Circulates information on the NHS Long Term Plan for CVD prevention and cardiac services to front line clinical and policy leaders operating in STPs and ICSs
  • Gathers key stakeholders from NHS England, Public Health England and NHS RightCare to disseminate information with local clinical leaders
  • Provides a network where clinicians have a rare opportunity to exchange ideas and share best practice with national bodies, ICS / STP leaders, industry and the third sector

Attendees include senior decision-makers in cardiology from across the sector, including:

  • Medical Directors and Associate Medical Directors
  • Clinical Directors and Consultant Cardiologists from secondary providers
  • Clinical Chairs and Directors of Commissioning from CCGs
  • Executive directors and Clinical Leads from GP Federations and Primary Care Networks
  • Very senior managers from arms’ length bodies including NHS England and NHS Improvement
